Note about the book:
For years we have been struggling worldwide with the problem of teacher training and development and its various contexts, being aware of the deficiencies of teacher education, but, at the same time, not reaching community-negotiated solutions. [...] The book reveals trends in early childhood teacher training in an international dimension while taking into consideration various aspects that impact teachers' work in a changing world. [...] The papers' authors come from different continents - that is why the book takes on not only an international dimension but a global one. [...] Apart from articles discussing selected issues based on subject literature, it also includes papers reporting on research and its findings. In my opinion, such diversity makes the book more attractive as readers can compare the cognitive achievements of the individual, different papers on their own. [...] The monograph certainly reveals a broad spectrum of detailed issues and also promotes a careful search of this field, a search that is sensitive to numerous contexts. It also heightens public attention to teachers' problems, especially the problems of preschool and early elementary teachers.
