From April 28 to 30, 2026, APS hosted two researchers from the University of Murcia in Spain – Prof. Maria Jesus Bazaco Belmonte and Dr. Pedro Moreno Abellan.

The visit took place as part of the ERASMUS programme and was coordinated by Dr. Katarzyna Ziomek-Michalak from the Department of Social Prevention and Social Work.

On the first day of the visit, Dr. Lidia Zabłocka-Żytka, Rector’s Representative for International Cooperation, and Katarzyna Wyszomirska from the Office for National and International Cooperation introduced the guests to the University, its study programmes and research activities.

The following day, Prof. Maria Jesus Bazaco Belmonte and Dr. Pedro Moreno Abellan conducted classes for Sociology students on fundraising opportunities and obtaining financial support for projects. The topic perfectly matched the “Profession – Fundraiser” course. The meeting also created space for an inspiring exchange of experiences – APS students enthusiastically shared the outcomes of 9-day  Łatwogang charity livestream, which gained significant online attention.

Students of Social Work had the opportunity to learn about good practices developed within the ESium Project – an intergenerational initiative focused on activities supporting older adults in local communities.

As part of the study visit, the guests also visited the Intergenerational Activity Centre at Korotyńskiego Street, where they were welcomed by Mr. Lech Uliasz, Acting Deputy Director of CAM “Nowolipie”. They also had the chance to explore Warsaw and enjoy the city’s atmosphere.

We hope that Maria and Pedro’s visit will lead to further joint research projects and continued international cooperation.
