We cordially invite you to the next "Meeting with the Book". This time we will talk about the monograph "Memory Coalitions. "Milusin" manor 1956-2000" by Dr Beata Nessel-Łukasik. The book has just been published as part of the series "Contemporary Polish Society about the Past" by Wydawnictwo Naukowe Scholar (vol. 15).

The publication is an example of an innovative approach to the issues in the field of interdisciplinary memory research. That is why the main subjects of this book are the memorial site, the "Milusin" manor house and a group of people who in the years 1956-2000 attended the Municipal Kindergarten No. 1 located in the Piłsudski family home. Although it is a classic case study based on the methodology of oral history and individual memory research, the concept of the book is very original. Asking the question of what influenced the creation of social ties and building the relationship between a specific memorial site and a specific group of memory bearers, the author seeks an answer using the still sporadic combination of scientific research and practice. Thanks to this, she manages to fully show how institutions that are the center of local life can affect the immediate surroundings on many different levels of social life.
